Tuesday afternoon blues grip nation as staff consider futures and apply for jobs else
Bosses need to be on high alert on Tuesday afternoons as this is the time that employers go online to search for new jobs. A survey of 700 people conducted by recruitment website Fish4jobs found that productivity reached its lowest point at 3.15pm on a Tuesday. Each respondent spent an average of 8 minutes and 37 seconds job surfing, once they had logged onto the site, while two-thirds of respondents admitted that they had been caught out by their employer for job-hunting. Jow Slavin chief executive at Fish4 said: "In our experience, Tuesday afternoons are the trigger point in the week when most employees' minds start to wander and reflect on their current job situation. "It's worrying to note that some jobseekers are blatantly looking for jobs during their current worktime. It's a dangerous game and certainly one that we wouldn't recommend," he added. *
