Step #2: Choose Authentic Goals

A young woman working to become a model because her parents believe it is the best path for her to pursue. A specific goal, to be sure, but unless she wants the same thing, it's not a personal desire and there, the wrong goal.

A young college student trying to get his roommates to study more often. A worthy ambition, but one that is mostly out of his control and, therefore, the wrong goal.

Authentic goals - the right goals - need to be personal and possible for you to control. They also need to be powerful desires, not weak wishes. Whenever choosing your next goal to pursue, make sure it stems from these three qualities. Now onto pinpointing the goals that are right for you...
