A City bank is being sued for a record £10m for race discrimination after an employee claimed he was sacked for not being German. Australian-born Malcolm Perry lost his job as managing director of Dresdner Kleinwort's London head office during restructuring last year. He told an employment tribunal yesterday that the bank's German parent company, Allianz, wanted to make the restructured firm 'more German'. Perry claims that while he was serving his notice, after being made redundant in April 2006, a similar job was offered to a German. Perry was on £2.2m per year at Dresdner, and is seeking almost £10m for hurt feelings and loss of earnings. The hearing, in central London, continues.
