The vision of the .NET Architect role is to provide technical leadership at the highest level on a .NET project or program and to ensure the integrity and continuity of the application architecture of the entire portfolio of solutions within the scope of the project. The Architect will envision and construct the architecture for .NET projects that are suited to meet both the short-term needs of the project and the longer-range goals of transforming application architecture. .NET Architect would report to Program Manager/Project Manager. The Architect will be responsible for activities under three core areas Technology Solution Decision and Implementation, Processes and Mentoring: Work with customer or team to understand and articulate business requirements. Create a feasible and optimized architecture and design to provide technical direction regarding solution design and development. Own implementation of data model and incorporate security requirements in the application. Design a robust, performance effective and scalable technical solution. Provide technical consultancy to customer and team to be able to meet the business requirements in the most feasible and efficient manner. Suggesting approaches that optimize customer needs, business constraints, and technological realities. Adhere to the software quality process and other processes defined in Wipro as well as those which are specific to our customer(s). Foster high performing technical team Coach, mentor and delegate to engineers to facilitate their development. Develop and implement technical training roadmap for development staff. MSBU team works out of multiple locations in India and out of customer sites in US, Europe and Japan.The ideal candidate would possess the following skills and experience: Overall, 8+ years of experience in architecting and designing Microsoft applications with at least 2 year in Microsoft SharePoint or any other Portal Platform. Hands-on experience on the SharePoint platform with Architecting/Designing experience on at least 3 full life cycle projects. Should have knowledge of SharePoint 2007. Knowledge of other Microsoft products such as Project Server, Commerce Server, Content Management Server is a must. Knowledge of competing products like Plumtree, BEA portal, SAP portal would be preferred. Experience in Requirement Analysis. Strong UML experience, DB Design skills. Experience in design tools like Visio, Rational. Knowledge of Web Services, Service Oriented Architecture, EAI knowledge is a plus. MCSD certification would be a plus. In addition of technical depth and breadth, architect requires excellent communication, interpersonal and leadership skills.
