Default Quality Improvement Agency launches online continuing professional development tool for further educ

The Quality Improvement Agency, (QIA) set up by the government to work across the learning and skills sector to improve performance, has launched an online portal to enhance the skills development for those people involved in all aspects of further education. The Excellence Gateway provides access to guidance and information on effective practice to help individuals further develop their own skills and professional knowledge. It also enables people to learn directly from and interact with others in the sector. Andrew Thomson, chief executive of the QIA, said: "The concept behind the Excellence Gateway is to allow anyone employed in further education an easy entry point into continuing their personal professional development.
